Jesup Baptist church for Curtis Dees generally known as Uncle Kirk Dees. He was born in Wilcox county, Alabama in June 1848 and was past 88 years old. In early life he came to Louisiana. He was married twice. To the first union there were born three children, who all survive, two boys, Daniel and Harrison and one daughter, Mary; their mother preceded him many years ago, as did the second wife. He was one of six brothers who all have preceded him in death. He is survived by an only sister, Mrs. Mattie Smith of Ft. Jesup. . . .ongoing tribute.
