E. Dees, a former Sabine parish boy, were saddened to learn of the death of his only daughter, Teressa, 14, June 23. Teressa and her cousin, Lena Stacner, of same age, were drowned in Whiskachitto creek near DeRidder while attending a family reunion picnic near their grandfather Dear's old homestead in Beauregard parish. Miss Dees was an active member of the First Baptist church of DeRidder. Rev. Wright, of that church conducted the funeral services at 4 p.m. Sunday. A large mound of flowers covered the last resting place in Woodlawn cemetery of DeRidder. The presence of several hundred sorrowing friends bore testimony that her sunny smile, pure life and never ceasing kindness has not been in vain.
