W. L. Dees Sr.

  W. L. Dees Sr., 92, died in Many on Monday, Nov. 24, at 2:30
p.m., after an extended illness.

  He is survived by one son, W. L. Dees Jr. of Florien; six
daughters, Nona Hall of Many, Lola Barrera of Carthage, Tex.,
Hattie Brown of Vivian, Evelyn Williamson of Gladewater, Tex.,
Doris Clemmons of Beaumont, Tex., and Irene Shepherd of
Jacksonville, Tex.; three brothers, Jonas Dees of Shreveport,
Bernard Dees of Vivian, and Rubin Dees of Smackover, Ark.; four
sisters, Lizzie Lewing, and Pearl Hildabrand, both of Many, Lina
Leggett of Smackover, Ark., and Fannie Heredg of New York; 22
grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great
grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion Church on Wednesday,
Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. The Rev. C. C. Piercem and the Rev. Joe
Shaver officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, under the
direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Dees' grandsons served as pallbearers.
