Mr. Dyess was a member of the First Baptist Church of Zwolle, Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers Union. He was active in the cattle, oil, and timber businesses, and was a life long resident of Sabine Parish. He loved his wife and entire family. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Feb. 13, at First Baptist Church of Zwolle, with interment following at Progress Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Penfield, and the Rev. Will Hassan officiated. Survivors include his widow, Billie Dyess of Many; a daughter, Marilyn Laramy and husband Howard of Tampa, Fla.; five sons, Kenneth Dyess and wife Bonita of Monroe, William Daniel Dyess and wife Desiree of Natchitoches, Gerald Dyess and wife Patricia of Pineland, Texas, Harold Craig Dyess and wife Hazel of Zwolle, and Darryl A. Dyess and wife Lisa of Converse; one sister, Helen Vines of Shreveport; a half brother, Ernest Blankenship of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Kristy, Joey, Chase, Katherine, Eleanor, Brandi, Alicia, Russell, Clint, and Brandon; great grandchildren, Charles, Zachary, and Jesse; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers were Kenny Dyess, William Daniel Dyess, Gerald Dyess, Harold Craig Dyess, Darryl A. Dyess, Joey Dyess, Chase Dyess, Brandon Latimer, Guffey Lynn Pattison, and Doug Brandon.
