G. Dees A. G. Dees, 83, a former Many merchant for 40 years, died Saturday, Dec. 17, in Shreveport, after a short illness. He retired 19 years ago. Mr. Dees was very well known in the singing convention circuit. Funeral services were held in the Many First Baptist Church, Monday, Dec. 19, with Dr. Kelly Fitzgerald, and Dr. Cecil Knippers officiating. Interment was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. A. G. Dees of Many; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Whittlesey of Kilgore, Tex., and Mrs. Fred Powers of Greenville, Tex.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Leonard Lewis of Shreveport, and Mrs. Hubert Williams of Long Island, N. Y.; two foster sons, Kenneth Ramsey of Jackson, Miss., and Bunny Ramsey of Many; three brothers, J. C. Dees of DeRidder, Alex Dees of Mt. Pleasant, Tex., and Ezra Dees of Tyler, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Davis of Many, and Mrs. Elizabeth Ramsey of DeRidder; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and five step grandchildren. Pallbearers were Howard Anthony, Jim Tyler, Judge William Ponder, Hoyt Leach, Cliff Massingill, and J. B. McDonald.
