Dyess Joshua C. Dyess, 92, of Marthaville, died Saturday, Feb. 27, in a Many nursing home, after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Pleasant Hill, and was a retired farmer. Funeral services were held in the Spring Ridge Baptist Church at Pleasant Hill, at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, with the Rev. Clarence Burley officiating. Burial was in the Spring Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of the First National Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Joe Rawls of Marthaville; two sons, Martin B. Dyess of Joaquin, Tex., and Joseph H. Dyess of Huntington, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. S. H. Lofton of Lake Charles, and Mrs. W. J. Graves of Pleasant Hill; one brother, Grover C. Dyess of Marthaville; 39 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
