Dykes Services for Joseph Leo Dykes, 94, of Converse, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, in Drewett Memorial Chapel. The Rev. William Campbell officiated, and burial was in Shiloh Cemetery near Converse. Mr. Dykes died Friday morning, Oct. 13, in a Pleasant Hill Hospital after a short illness. Survivors include sons, Virgil R. Dykes of Texas City, Texas, and Raleigh Dykes of Channelview, Texas; daughters, Marguerite Cates, and Rachel T. Vickers, both of Converse, and Mrs. Elma A. Cates of Groves, Texas; brother, Willis J. Dykes of Bossier City; 17 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
