Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 28, at Driskill Memorial Chapel, with interment following at Canon City Cemetery. Dukes was the third child of nine, and as a teenager, she became a Christian, and was baptized in the Sabine River, out of Florien. She married Clifford Dukes on Dec. 14, 1936, in Ludington, at age 18. She attended Florin High School. She sewed for the military during World War II, and the Korean War. She was a seamstress at Standard Department Store in DeRidder. Survivors include her husband, Clifford E. Dukes of John Day, Ore.; two daughters, Delores Bagett and husband Robert of John Day, Ore., and Jackie Lucht and husband James of Hillsboro, Ore.; one son, Bobby Dukes and wife Sherl of Klamath Falls, Ore.; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and she was Grandma Dukes to many others. Mrs. Dukes was preceded in death by one son, Gordon Dukes, and her parents. Driskill Memorial Chapel, John Day, Ore.
