DeSoto, 57, of Shreveport, died Wednesday at 8:50 p.m., in his home, after a length illness. He had resided in Shreveport for 28 years, and was a retired employee of the State Highway Department. Funeral services were held Saturday, at 10 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholc Church, with the Rev. Frank Foret, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. DeSoto is survived by his widow, Mrs. Peggie DeSoto; three daughters, Mrs. Gwen Lazarus, and Mrs. Beverly Larkin, both of Keithville, and Mrs. Janie Hardy of Shreveport; four brothers, Theo DeSoto of Mansfield, Dennis DeSoto of Pelican, Rufus DeSoto of New Iberia, and George DeSoto of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Middleton of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Effie Farr of Shreveport; 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were Lee Hungerbeeler. Clyde Melton, David Dobbs, Robert Self, Jr., B. Balzrett, and David Self.
