DeSoto Services for Frank S. DeSoto, 64, of Bossier City, were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, at Rose-Neath Bossier City Chapel. The Rev. Billy Pierce, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Bossier, officiated. Graveside services were at Zion Rest Cemetery near Pleasant Hill, at 3:30 p.m., Thursday. He died at 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, at VA Medical Center, after a sudden illness. Mr. DeSoto was a native of Mansfield, and a lifetime resident of North La. He was a retired welder for Hendricks Mfg. Co. of Mansfield, a veteran of World War II, and a Baptist. Survivors include his widow, Edna DeSoto of Bossier City; one son, Frankie DeSoto of Joaquin, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Johnson of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Shirley Brownfield of Mansfield; one sister, Mrs. Luvena McLamore; one brother, Joe DeSoto, both of Shreveport; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy Shivers, Harry Lowler, Bill Newman, Howard Braddy, Bill Lee, and Bud Boudreau.
