Vera Kaye DeSoto

  Services were conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home
Chapel in Shreveport, for Mrs. Vera Kaye DeSoto, 54, of
Keithville, Monday, July 5, 1993, at 10 a.m. Officiating was Rev.
Johnny Tipton of Graywood Baptist Church, where Mrs. DeSoto was a
member. Interment was at Forest Park West Cemetery.

  She entered into rest Thursday, July 1, 1993, at St. Luke's
Hospital in Houston. Mrs. DeSoto was a native of Patmos, Ark.,
and lived in Caddo Parish since 1955.

  She is survived by her husband, William G. DeSoto Jr. of
Keithville; her mother, Mrs. Mary Wilson of Jefferson, Texas; two
daughters, Shannon and her husband Michael Brewster of
Marthaville, Tanya and husband Terry Martin of Keithville; a son,
William G. DeSoto III of Keithville; five sisters, Joyce and
husband Bill Shackelford of Longview, Pat Barron of Bossier City,
Sandra and husband Tommy Hooker of Marshall, Tex., Carolyn Gorman
of Marshall, Tex., Marilyn and husband Tom Oney of Dallas, Tex.;
four brothers, Dwight and wife Mary Miller of Shreveport, P. C.
and wife Neil Miller of Lake Jackson, Tex., Eddie and wife Vicki
Hawthorne of Marshall, Tex., Gary and wife Linda Hawthorne of
Shreveport; four grandchildren, Kerrigan Robinson, and TaRhonda
DeSoto of Marthaville, and Randy, and Stefanie Martin of
Keithville.
