Services for Mr. Rannie Lee Daugherty, 76, were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 1993, at the Union Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Francis Smith officiating. Burial was at Union Springs Cemetery. Mr. Daugherty, a lifelong resident of the Converse area, died Tuesday, April 6, 1993, in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. He was a Blue Lodge Mason at Lodge No. 252. He had worked as a welder for Nabours Trailers, and was a retail grocery store owner, and a member of the Union Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace Daugherty of the Union Springs Community; one daughter, Regenia Chancy and her husband Phillip of Union Springs Community; one brother, Terry Daugherty and his wife Pauline of Blanchard; one granddaughter, Vicky Matthews and her husband Jimmy of Shreveport; and one grandson, Mike Chaney of Union Springs Community. Pallbearers were Bob Farmer, Darrell Cassell, Rowland Patrick, Charles Clark, Dennis Carter, and Roland Hicks.
