A. DeWitt Funeral services were held Friday, at 3 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, Zwolle, for Mr. A. A. DeWitt, 66, a longtime resident of Sabine Parish. A native of Verda, La., Mr. DeWitt came to Sabine Parish in 1929, as an employee of Mansfield Hardware Lumber Co., where he served as Woods superintendent and manager until 1955. In recent years, Mr. DeWitt has developed and operated the Loring Lake Recreation Area, and has been active in real estate, and Toledo Lake Land developments. Mr. DeWitt was a past president of Sabine Parish Chamber of Commerce, past president of Zwolle Lions Club, treasurer, and board member of Zwolle Area Development Association. He was an active choir member, former treasurer, member of the board of trustees, and member of the building committee of the First Baptist Church of Zwolle. Mr. DeWitt is survived by his wife; two sons, Willard DeWitt of Many, and Aubrey Lee DeWitt of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn McCormick of Zwolle; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Saves of Center Point, and Mrs. Bertha Fletcher of Shreveport; and 11 grandchildren.
