The Sabine Index - Ada Dowden

  14 Mar 1947 - Mrs. J. C. (Ada) Dowden, age 73, passed away at
the home of her son, Cullen in Many 1:55 p.m. last Friday after a
long illness. Funeral services were conducted from Mt. Carmel
Baptist church 2:30 p.m. Saturday by Rev. J. C. Clement, pastor
Many First Baptist church, assisted by Revs. J. H. Ricks, M. L.
Delk and Tibbitts. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel cemetery
directed by Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were Edwin
Fraser, Lee Jordan, Ed Curtis, Joe Russell, C. H. Hubley and
Harold Paul.

  Mrs. Dowden is survived by: sons, H. A. Dowden, Shreveport, G.
C. Dowden, Beaumont, Texas, Cullen H. Dowden, Many, Floyd Dowden,
Monroe; seven grandchildren, Salley and Grover Dowden, Beaumont,
Texas, Dottie and C. H. Dowden, Shreveport, Harold Dean and Jimmy
Dowden, Many, Rex Neal Dowden, Monroe; a brother, Elisha
Richards, Shreveport, and a sister, Mrs. E. E. Britt, Peason.
