William Dowden

  Mr. William Coleman Dowden, 89, of Leesville, died Tueday, Oct.
28, after a long illness.

  Services were held at 10 a.m. today, in Hixson Funeral Home
chapel, with the Rev. Robert Potter officiating. Burial was in
Prospect Cemetery in Florien.

  Survivors are his wife; four sons; J. C. Dowden of Houma,
William Dowden of Shreveport, Clarence E. Dowden of Conroe, Tex.,
Willard E.? Dowden of Fort Worth, Tex.; six daughters, Mrs. Agnes
Gilcrease of Boyce, Mrs. Bessie McKinney of Mountain View, ark.,
Mrs. Cora Dowden of Batesville, Ark., Mrs. Betty Staggs of Houma,
Mrs. Ada James of Berryville, Ark., and Mrs. Grace Monk of
Thibodeaux; one brother, M. T. Dowden of Many; one sister, Mrs.
Harriett Walker of Peason; 32 grandchildren; 39 great
grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
