Mrs. Elva Dowden

  Services for Mrs. Elva Lee Dowden, 86, of Henderson, Texas, were
at 10 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 14, in the Crawford A. Crim Funeral
Home Chapel in Henderson, with the Rev. Bill Tisdale officiating.
Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery.

  Mrs. Dowden died Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 1987, in a
Henderson hospital, after an illness.

  She was born August 22, 1900, in Florien. She was a 56 year
resident of Henderson, and a homemaker. She was also a Baptist.

  Survivors are two sons, William D. M. Dowden Jr., Valparaiso,
Fla., and Talmidge L. Dowden, Henderson; two daughters, Mrs.
Kathleen Hamilton, Henderson, and Mrs. Melba Davidson, Tyler,
Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Musslewhite; eight grandchildren;
and 16 great grandchildren.
