Mavis Leach Dowden

  22 Feb 1995 - Funeral services for Mavis Leach Dowden, 81, of
Beaumont were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 16, at Wesley United Methodist
Church in Beaumont.

  Graveside services followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Florien
under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary.

  Mrs. Dowden was a native of Florien; Mrs. Dowden lived in
Beaumont for 9 years and was a retired school teacher.

  Survivors include four sons, Dr. Bobby F. Dowden, Shreveport,
Sammy Lane Dowden of Lytle, Tx., Dawson Ivy Dowden of
Clarksville, Iowa, and Leamon Vandy Dowden of Spring; one
daughter, Elizabeth Dowden Wiggins of Beaumont; one brother,
Floyd Leach of Yaciatha, Ca., thirteen grandchildren, and six
great grandchildren.
