Florence Elizabeth Dowden

  Services for Miss Florence Elizabeth Dowden, 86, were held at
11:30 a.m., Monday, April 6, 1992, at Rose-Neath's Marshall
Street Chapel. Officiating was Rev. T. Nichols Evans Sr.,
minister of Noel Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial was in
Forest Park Cemetery.

  Miss Dowden died Friday, April 3, 1992, in Shreveport, after a
lengthy illness. She was born in Natchitoches, and was a resident
of Shreveport since 1928. Miss Dowden was a retired registered
nurse, and a very devoted member of Noel Memorial United
Methodist Church.

  Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Hicks of Oil City,
Mrs. Louise Harvey of Shreveport, Mrs. Lena Tarver, and Mrs. Oma
Jones, both of Hornbeck, And Mrs. Ira Balkum of Sweeny, Tex.; one
brother, Dr. Nealy Dowden of Greenville, Tennessee; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

  Pallbearers were nephews.

  The family suggests memorials may be made to Noel Memorial
United Methodist Church.
