Bobbie Gene Dowden

  Funeral services for Bobbie Gene Dowden were held at 11 a.m.,
Tuesday, August 25, at the Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home Chapel
in Leesville, with the burial to follow in the Prewitts Chapel
Cemetery in Hornbeck, under the direction of the
Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home in Leesville.

  Mr. Dowden, 61, of Hornbeck, died at 10:30 a.m., August 23, at
Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport.

  Mr. Dowden is a native of Fisher, and a retired Loan Officer,
and Vice-President at the Merchant and Farmers Bank in Leesville.
He was a two term former mayor of Hornbeck, a former alderman of
Hornbeck, and a member of the Civitan Club.

  He is survived by his wife, Lucille Dowden of Hornbeck; one son,
Bobby W. Dowden of Shreveport; three daughters, Sherril Woodward
of San Augustine, Texas, Vicki Prichard of Hornbeck, and Cindy
Nolen of Leesville; three brothers, Billie Dowden, and Charles
Dowden, both of Plainview, Glen "Buck" Dowden of Port Arthur,
Texas; two sisters, Mablene Gibson of Hornbeck, and Joy Hyatt of
Plainview; six grandchildren, Brandy, and Shelby Prichard of
Hornbeck, Stacie, Haley, and Ryan Woodward, all of San Augustine,
Texas, Mackenzie Nolen of Leesville.
