Dowden, Sr. Services for Marlin A. Dowden Sr. were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 1992, at the First Baptist Church in Hornbeck, with the Reverend Harvey Hoffman, and Roy Dowden officiating. The burial followed in the Beckham Cemetery in Hornbeck, under the direction of the Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home in Leesville. Mr. Dowden, 68, of Hornbeck, died Thursday, August 6, 1992, at 12:45 a.m., at his residence in Hornbeck. Mr. Dowden was a native of Barham. He was an Air Force veteran, and a retired accountant. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Sanders Dowden of Hornbeck; one son, Marlin A. Dowden Jr.; one daughter, Pamela Gail Synder of Houston, Texas; mother Stella Mae Dowden of Hornbeck; one brother, Ronny Dowden of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Doris Bello, and Maura Jane Dowden, both of Shreveport; and four grandchildren.
