Sheldon P. Dowden, Jr.

  Funeral services for Sheldon P. Dowden Jr., 24, of Tuscola,
Ill., formerly of Natchitoches, were held Saturday, May 18, 1996,
at ? p.m., at Beulah Baptist Church near Many. Interment was at
Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of
Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Leach
officiating.

  Mr. Dowden died Monday, May 13, 1996, at Decana Memorial
Hospital, Decana, Ill., as a result of a construction accident.
Mr. Dowden was a native of Shreveport, a member of the Tuscola
Moose Lodge, and worked as an iron worker for All-Tri-R General
Contractors, Pana, Ill.

  Survivors include Susan Greger (His fiancé), of Tuscola Ill.;
one stepdaughter, Breanna Gabbard of Tuscola, Ill.; one sister,
Blonnie Elizabeth Dowden of Hemphill; parental grandmother, Edith
Pugh Dowden of Hemphill; paternal grandfather, James Sheldon
Dowden of New Orleans; Uncle Villis "Bo" and Aunt Gladys Dowden
of Hemphill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sheldon P.
and Patsy Gail Johnson Dowden Jr.

  Pallbearers were his friends at church.
