Mrs. Ethel M. Dowden

  Mrs. Ethel M. Dowden, 84, of Zwolle, died Friday, Sept. 11, at
Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness.

  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 14, at
Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Many, with interment following
at Aimwell Cemetery in Zwolle. The Rev. Paul Ferrant officiated,
and the Rev. Benny Crittenden assisted.

  Survivors include two sons, Clayton H. Dowden and wife Mable of
Marthaville, and Raymond D. Dowden and wife Nelda of Pineland,
Texas; two daughters, Bobbie F. McFarland and husband Roy of
Vidor, Texas, and Judy L. Williams and husband James of Zwolle;
one sister, Pearl Saundland of San Augustine, Texas; 11
grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and
nephews. Mrs. Dowden was preceded in death by her loving husband
of 58 years, Mr. Francis Cullen Dowden.

  Pallbearers were her grandsons, Donnie McFarland, Gary
McFarland, Jeffrey Williams, Jessie Williams, Jermey Williams,
Steven Dowden, and Randy Dowden.
