C. Dowden L. C. Dowden, 42, of Hornbeck, died in the Schumpert Memorial Hospital, April 24, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at Prewitts Chapel Baptist Church, April 27, with the Rev. Robert Graham, and the Rev. Francis Belsha officiating. Burial was in the Prewitt Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mabel Masters Dowden of Hornbeck; three sons, Nathan (Butch) Dowden, and David Dowden, both of Hornbeck, and Johnny Ray Dowden of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ashton, Waxahachie, Tex., Penny, and Candy, both of Hornbeck; two brothers, Arnold, and L. J. Dowden; his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Dowden of Hornbeck; and four sisters, Mrs. Trudie Sneed, and Mrs. Irene Cabra, both of Hornbeck, Mrs. Rowena Mitchell, and Mrs. Inez Marze, both of Anacoco. Pallbearers were his nephews.
