Dowden Ben P. Dowden, 19, a sophomore at Centenary College of Louisiana, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at his home in Bedford, Texas. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at Vincent's Episcopal Church in Bedford, Texas. Burial was at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at Fort Jesup Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Dowden officiated. Dowden was born Feb. 9, 1982, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from L. D. Bell High School in May, 2000. He was a member of St. Vincent's Episcopal Church, where he participated in EYC, was a Master Acolyte, and went to Russia as a member of one of the church's mission trips. Ben loved his car and his music. Survivors include his parents, Charles and Julie Dowden; a brother, Drew Dowden, all of Bedford, Texas; grandmothers, Beatrice P. Tramel, and Neva C. Dowden of Many; and a host of family and friends. Dowden was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wingate Dowden, and Dr. Charley B. Tramel, both of Many.
