Mrs. Mellie Dowden

  Funeral services for Mrs. Mellie Dowden, 79, of Hornbeck, who
died in a Leesville nursing home, were held recently in Bonnett's
Chapel, with the Rev. Chester McInnis officiating.

  Burial was in the McInnis Cemetery, under the direction of
Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.

  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Floy Kamel of Kansas City,
Kan.; two sons, Alton Dowden of Hornbeck, and Tryon Dowden of
Carrabel, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Belle Bush of Leesville,
and Virgie Gore of Silsbee, Tex.; two brothers, George L. McInnis
of Vidor, Tex., and Norman McInnis of Hornbeck; 15 grandchildren;
and eight great grandchildren.
