Henry Dowden

  Henry Dowden, 89, of Hornbeck, died in Many, April 21, at 3:40
p.m., after an extended illness.

  Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Jennie Dowden of
Hornbeck; two sons, Arnold, and L. J. Dowden, both of Hornbeck;
four daughters, Mrs. Trudie Sneed, and Mrs. Irene Cabra, both of
Hornbeck, and Mrs. Rowena Mitchell, and Mrs. Inez Marze, both of
Anacoco; a brother, Mid Dowden of Henderson, Tex.; 42
grandchildren; and 48 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at Prewitts Chapel Church, on
Thursday, April 23, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Graham, the
Rev. David H. Oliver, the Rev. L. K. Goode, and the Rev. T. K.
Belsha officiating. Burial was in Prewitts Chapel Cemetery, under
the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.

  Pallbearers were grandsons, Bobby, Jerry, Teddie, and Nathan
Dowden, Dovelas Sneed, and Gene Cabra. Honorary pallbearers were
Melton Mitchell, and Rickey Marte.
