Jewel Dowell

  Services for Miss Jewel Dowell were at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May
31, at Drewett Memorial Chapel in Mansfield, with Rev. Adrian
Pater of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was at
Spring Ridge Cemetery near Pleasant Hill.

  Miss Dowell died at 4:15, May 30, at DeSoto General Hospital,
after a lengthy illness.

  She was a former resident, and a retired school teacher of
Pleasant hill.

  Survivors include four sisters; Mrs. Lida Phillips, Opelousas,
La., Mrs. Verna Jackson, Pleasant Hill, La., Mrs. Odessa
Copeland, and Mrs. Norma McCullough, both of Mansfield; three
nephews; three nieces; four great nephews; and two great nieces.
