He was born in Sabine parish May 12, 1873, the eldest son of E. C. and Louise (Sibley) Dillon. His early education was procured in the public schools and Keachie College. He entered Memphis Medical college, from which he graduated in 1898 and came home to Sabine parish to practice his profession. For some time he was located at Fisher as chief surgeon for the Louisiana Long Leaf Lumber company and served as local surgeon of the Kansas City Southern railway. In 1904 he was elected representative of Sabine Parish in the state legislature for a four-year term, during the time practicing medicine in Many. In 1908 Dr. Dillon was appointed president of the State Board of Health by Governor J. Y. Sanders, occupying that position for two years, leaving an enviable record. Resigning his place on the board he returned to Many, again taking up the practice of medicine, later years going to Peason as company doctor for the Peavy-Wilson Lumber company. After the mill cut out he went to Springhill. At this place he served as mayor for a number of years. The last public position was the head of the Louisiana Training Institute at Monroe. The past few years, while in feeble health, he made his home at Many. Dr. Dillon was a successful physician. He was public-spirited, an untiring worker. Dr. Dillon was married in 1896 to Miss Nettie Self, daughter of Judge Eligah Self. To this union one son was born, E. C. Later years he was married to Mrs. Nora Simpson Aldredge, who survives him.
