Mr. Dahlem was a lifelong Catholic. A Rosary was recited on July 23, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zwolle. A memorial Mass was held at St. Joseph's at 2 p.m., July 24. He was born on May 20, 1942, in Clarksville, Ark., to Alfred and Hedwig Dahlem. He was a forester, employed by Walsh Timber Co. of Zwolle. He was a fighter pilot for 33 years, in the 188th Arkansas Air National Guard, having achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Junie of Many; one daughter, Michelle Bryant and husband Rich of Clemmons, N. C.; two sons, Michael John II of San Diego, Calif., and Martin Jeffrey and wife Traci of Ft. Smith, Ark.; five brothers, Gene of Glendale, Ariz., Bob of Ft. Smith, Ark., Freddy, Tommy, and Jerry, all of Many; two sisters, Mary Callaway of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Kathy Leding of Springdale, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Jacob Michael Dahlem, and Darynne Angelique Dahlem. Mr. Dahlem was happily awaiting the arrival of a third grandchild in January 2000. In addition to being an avid hunter sportsman, Mike was a devoted husband, and true friend to his wife, a wonderful father to his children, and will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, or St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Zwolle, La. Warren Meadows, Many, La.
