Mrs. Ophie S. Dowling

  Mrs. Ophie S. Dowling, 79, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, after a
brief illness.

  Mrs. Dowling was a homemaker. She was a resident of Converse for
20 years.

  Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 15 at
Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Graveside services were held at 4
p.m., at Grand Cane Cemetery. Dr. N. O. Pugh officiated.

  Survivors include one son, T. O. "Jimmy" Greer and wife Flo of
Converse; grandchildren, Gaye Atkinson, and Clay Greer; three
great grandchildren; two nieces, Virginia Jones, and Ann Nichols;
and one stepson, Porter Dowling and wife Marilyn. Mrs. Dowling
was preceded in death by her husband, T. L. Dowling.
