Dillard (Photo) Bobby L. Dillard, 66, died at the DeSoto Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 4, 2001. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m., at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield. Officiating was Bro. Jim Reynolds, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church (where Bobby was a member, and served as a deacon), and assisted by John Griffin of Monroe, and Jim Loftin of Pineville. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. He was a native of Pleasant Hill, where he lived the first 40 years of his life. He served as alderman, acting mayor at one point, and was also instrumental in organizing the first fire department in Pleasant Hill. In 1956, he went to work for Nabors Trailers, where he remained for 35 years. During these years, he worked in different capacities, and served as plant supervisor for many years. He left Nabors in 1991, and in 1992, went to work in the DeSoto Regional Health System, where he remained until his death. Bobby was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School, and attended Centenary College, and Northwestern College of Natchitoches. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Sadie Dillard of Pleasant Hill. Survivors include, by his widow, Sue S. Dillard of Mansfield, six children, Kathy Sistrunk and husband Donnie of Converse, Ken Dillard and wife Maurice of Gloster, Buddy McCullin and wife Amy of Mansfield, Janet Arnold and husband Larry of Mansfield, Joel White and wife Annie of Decatur, Texas, and Tracy McCullin of Mansfield; 17 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Griffin and husband John of Monroe, and Beth Loftin and husband Jim of Pineville. Pallbearers were Bud Barrow, Loye Nichols, Corky Russo, Steve Procell, Larry Deas, Tommy Mason, Jimmy Reynolds, and Dr. Donald R. Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Joe Leone, Bill Lowry, Al Sharrow, Johnny R. Procell, Ted Brownfield, and Roy Bridges. The family would like to thank all the employees of DRHS, who were always willing in every way to comfort all of us. We especially would like to thank Drs. Taylor, Burton, and Dillard, who were always ready to administer to Bobby and his two sitters, Danita, and Shenette Peoples. Bobby loved the Lord, and was always willing to serve Him in any way he could. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
