T. Dunn MANY - Three persons were killed, and another injured Tuesday morning, in a head-on collision. Killed instantly were Mrs. Sam Cole, 59, of Mt. Carmel, and J. T. Dunn, 23, of Mooringsport. The third victim, 19 year old M. C. Hines of Many, died about three hours later, in a local hospital. Buford Cole, son of Mrs. Cole, and driver of one of the two autos involved, is hospitalized here. Sabine Parish Sheriff, T. M. Phillips said the auto driven by Hines failed to negotiate a curve on U. S. Hwy 171, at nearby Fisher, and skidded head-on into the vehicle driven by Cole. Dunn, an oilfield worker employed by Coastal Drilling Co. of Many, was thrown from the Hines vehicle, and pinned beneath the wreckage. The auto driven by Cole, a forester employed by the A. J. Hodges Industries of Many, was headed south, and the Hines vehicle as traveling north at the time of the crash, about 10 a.m. Phillips said. Hines was also an oil field worker.
