All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************************************************** ************************************************************ Mr. Ordway John "Jack" Dunbar Memorial services for Ordway John "Jack" Dunbar, 75, of Toledo Bend Lake, will be hosted at the First United Methodist Church of Many, Thursday, August 10, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Charles Crews, pastor, and the Rev. Hulen Warren, former pastor, will officiate. Mr. Dunbar died at his home, Sunday, August 6, at 6:15 p.m., following a lengthy illness. His body was donated to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport for research. Survivors include his widow, Anne Dunbar of Toledo Bend; four daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Jerry Cox of Richmond, Texas, Jaye Dunbar and Michael Slovan of Houston, Lisa and Steven Simmons of Fort Worth, and Vanessa and Scott Thompson of Houston; four grandchildren, Christopher and Phillips Simmons, and Brandon and Samantha Thompson; one sister, Audrey Gallagher of New Jersey; two nieces and two nephews. Mr. Dunbar was born in Washington, D. C., and raised in New Jersey. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia, School of Engineering, and was employed as a Corrosion Engineer for Transco Energy Co., for 34 years. He was also a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Navy. Following retirement in 1986, in Houston, he and his wife moved to Toledo Bend Lake. He was a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, and an active member of the Many First United Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Life Center at First United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association.
