Jessie Morris Downs

  Mr. Jessie Morris Downs died Thursday, Sept. 2, at V. A.
Hospital in Shreveport, after a short illness. Mr. Downs was 62
years of age. He was a resident of Marthaville.

  Funeral services for Downs were held Friday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m.,
at Little Egypt Pentecostal Church. Interment was at Spring Ridge
Cemetery. Officiating was Brother Lonnie Treadway. Services were
under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Downs is survived by his wife, Doris Downs, Marthaville; one
son, Jesse Dale Downs, Marthaville; four daughters, Mary Francis
LaGan, Renae Downs, Marilyn Downs, and Deborah Downs, all of
Arlington, Texas; one sister, Myrtle Madison, Shreveport; two
grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nephews and
nieces.
