Mrs. Sarah Ardell Downs

  Mrs. Sarah Ardell Downs, 94, passed away at North Sabine Nursing
Center in Pleasant Hill, on May 10.

  Surviving relatives include three sons, Jessie C. "Cotton" and
Gail Downs of Fisher, John "Porky" Downs, and James Henry Downs,
both of Florien; daughter-in-law, Rose Downs of Florien; six
grandchildren, Debbie and Sambo Hudson of Jonesville, Dennis and
Ellen Downs, and Donnie and Sue Downs, all of Florien, Denise and
Devon Fletcher of Hornbeck, Donald and Millie Downs of Zwolle,
Diane and Charles Foster of Broaddus, Texas; 10 great
grandchildren, Daniel, Deana, Douglas, D. J. and Candy Downs,
Patrick Foster, Danee', Dustin and Devin Fletcher, Kayla Hudson;
a host of nieces and nephews.

  Services were held at Gandy Baptist Church. Burial was in the
Florien Cemetery, with the Rev. Mack Brister, the Rev. Jerry
Ford, and the Rev. Clarence Chism.

  Pallbearers were Ben D. Peterson, Kenneth Slater, Clarence
Lewing, Bob Slater, Bobby Poarch, Monroe Powell.

  Honorary pallbearers, Kenneth Arthur, Tommy Carroll, and Loyd
Dean.
