All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************************************************** ************************************************************ Fred Warren Dennington Funeral services for Fred Warren Dennington, who was born on May 12, 1927, in Texarkana, Ark., and died on Dec. 23, at Schumpert Medical Center, Shreveport, were held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Willis Dear, pastor of Summer Grove United Methodist Church. Burial was in Forest Park West. Mr. Dennington had been a resident of Shreveport for the past 45 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Blanche Dennington; one granddaughter, Susan Rebekah Hall; and one great grandson, Derek Daniel Veuleman. Survivors are his wife, Christine Dennington of Shreveport; two sons, Fred Allen Dennington and wife Ann of Greenwood, Phillip Michael Dennington Sr. and wife Debbie of Waskom, Tex.; one daughter, Debra Susan Hall and husband David of Keithville; one brother, Leo Dennington; nine grandchildren, Mark Dennington, Buck Dennington, Chrissie Veuleman, Todd Dennington, Freda Sanford, Lynette Dennington, Stacy Hall, Angie Scardino, and Melanie Dykes; 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Dennington was a member of Ironworkers Local Union 591 for 40 years, Business Agent of Local Union 591 from 1966 until 1981. He went on the staff of the Ironworkers International Union, Washington, D. C. in 1981, as General Organizer, where he remained until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of W. H. Booth Masonic Lodge, and a member of El Karubah Shrine, El Karubah Golf Unit, also a member of the Red Fox Men's Golf Club, member of Summer Grove United Methodist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy, World War II, and Korean War. Pallbearers were Mark, Buck, and Todd Dennington, Bryan Veuleman, David Hall, and Bruce Terrell. Honorary pallbearers were the members of Local Union 591. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Freda Sanford account at Peoples State Bank in Greenwood.
