She was a longtime member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Oak Grove. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., July 26, at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, with interment following at Progress Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. The Rev. Jimmy Price officiated, and the Rev. Bob Miller assisted. Survivors include her husband, As Diamond of Mitchell Community; three daughters and their husbands, Zula and Curtis Fox, Myrtie Virginia and Russ Dixon, and Carolyn Sue Carroll, all of Mitchell Community; one sister, Nerella Savant of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Wayne George, Larry George, Frank Fox, Sissy Barmore, Ricky Austin, Robinette Waren, James Ott, and Benny Ott; 19 great grandchildren; four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia O. Strander. Pallbearers were Elton Johnson, Gene Craig, Sonny Shoalmire, Buddy Funderburg, Paul Taylor, and John Tatum.
