The Rev. Abe M. Conerly officiated. Burial with Masonic graveside services was at the church cemetery, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Mr. Durr, a native of Marthaville, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 1983, at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital in Natchitoches, after a brief illness. He was a retired poultry and cattle man, and was a member of the Ajax Masonic Lodge, where he served as past master, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Durr Coe of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Roberta Moore of Jefferson, Texas, Mrs. Alice Bruce of Marthaville, and Mrs. Jo Evelyn Newman of Lake Charles, La.; three brothers, Lester Durr, Burt Durr, and John Durr, all of Marthaville; two grandchildren, Nancy Gave Coe, and Bill Coe of Shreveport. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Masonic Children's Home in Alexandria.
