All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************************************************** ************************************************************ Mrs. Bertie Lee Durr Mrs. Bertha Lee Durr, 66, of Marthaville, passed away on May 9, 1985, in the Schumpert Medical Center of Shreveport, at 3 p.m. She was born in Sabine Parish on June 29, 1918. Her parents were Eva Slater, and Raleigh David Stewart of Sabine Parish. Services were held in the Bethel Congregational Methodist Church on Saturday, May 11, at 3 p.m. Burial services were in the Ajax Cemetery. Rev. Foster Jennings, and Rev. Jerry Wheeler officiated. Pallbearers for the ceremony were Charles Reece, Willie Powell, Buddy Stewart, Mike Durr, Lynn Durr, Gerald Powell, Ronnie Stewart, Kenny Durr, and Benny Durr, Jr. Mrs. Durr is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Durr, Sr. of Ajax; five sons, Benny T. Durr of Martinsburg, W. Va., Robert Lee Durr, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, David J. Durr of Chester, South Carolina, Daniel E. Durr of Ajax, La., Nathan Durr of Columbus, Ohio; four daughters, Linda Wehner of Elizabeth, Colorado, Patsy Acheson of Covington, La., Deborah Robison of Atlanta, Texas, and Regene Durr of Covington, La.; four brothers, Clifford Steward of Jal, New Mexico, Lawrence Stewart of Covington, Berman Stewart of Effie, and Travis Stewart of Effie, La.; one sister, Irene Reece of Shreveport; and 23 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
