Y. "Jake" Durr Services for Mr. J. Y. (Jake) Durr, 80, of Pleasant Hill were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 15 at Beulah Methodist Church. Rev. Roy Mouser and Rev. Billy Dale officiating. Burial was at Beulah Cemetery, near Marthaville, under the direction of Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel. Mr. Durr died Sunday November 13, 1988, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport. He was a native of Marthaville and a resident of the Pleasant Hill area for the past 26 years. He was a retired self-employed merchant, cattleman and farmer. Survivors: step-mother, Mrs. Arlevy Durr of Houston, Tx.; two sons, Truman M. Durr of Pleasant Hill and Artis L. Durr of Mansfield; two daughters, Mrs. Dorla Collins of Bossier City and Mrs. Thelma Kreeger of Denver, Colo; eight sisters, Willie Mae Davidson of Lubbock, Tx., Marie Williams of Leesville, Ivy Foul of Houston, Tx., Louise Taylor of Texas City, Tx., Annie Lee Touchton of Houston, Tx., Gloria Faye Bryant of Austin, Tx., Christine Tolar of Douchet, Tx. and Callie B. Williams of Coushatta; four brothers, Lois Durr of Beaumont, Tx., P. A. Durr of Winnie, Tx., Leroy Durr of Jasper, Tx. and Boge Durr of Woodville, Tx.; 14 grandchildren and 12 grandchildren. Pallbearers: Grandsons.
