The Revs. Glen Flenniken, and C. J. Walea officiated. Burial was in the Lewing Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Derr died Feb. 17, 1997, at Willis Knighton North, Shreveport. Military graveside services were conducted by the Sabine Chapter #21 of the DAV. He is survived by one son, Jimmy L. Derr; and one daughter, Virginia Ann Derr, both of Many; three sisters, Willie D. Hoagland, Many, Ada Belle Hughes, Rogers, Ark., and Ora Lee Hubble, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers were Johnny Miller, Carl Leach, Wayne Self, Cecil Thomas, Rodney Manasco, Ralph Matthews, Richard Isgitt, and Roy Windham Jr.
