The shooting occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 8:30 p.m., near a chicken house in Belmont. Also killed in the shooting was Sammy Mitchell of the Friendship Community. Funeral services for Mrs. Durr were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, at Jennings Chapel in Marthaville. Burial was in the Marthaville Cemetery, under the direction of the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Survivors include her husband, Chester Terrell Durr; two sons, Chester T. Durr Jr., and Harold Oden Durr, both of Marthaville; two sisters, Margaret Dahl, and Sharon Dahl; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dalh, all of Marthaville; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Berry of Robeline.
