Mrs. Laverne Drake

  Mrs. Laverne Drake, 51, of Many, died in Many on Wednesday,
October 8, at 9:00 p.m., following an extended illness.

  Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Wakefield of
Houston, Tex.; her mother, Mrs. J. E. Napier of Converse; two
brothers, Jack Napier of Zwolle, and J. E. Napier of Laurel,
Miss.; five sisters, Mrs. N. U. Wright of Converse, Mrs. Charlie
Kile of Shreveport, Mrs. Billy Ray Skinner of Mt. Carmel, Mrs. C.
B. Leatherwood of Converse, and Mrs. Randy Martin of Many, and
two grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at the Midway Baptist Church on
Friday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. William Campbell
officiating. Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery, under the
direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
