Derrick, 75, of Converse, died Saturday night, May 7, in a Shreveport hospital, after a long illness. The funeral services were at 3 p.m., Monday, in Drewett Funeral Home in Mansfield, with the Rev. Richard May, and the Rev. Jerry Schmucker officiating. Burial was in Converse Cemetery. Survivors include his widow; four sons, Johnnie Martin Derrick, Carl Allen Derrick, and James R. Derrick, all of Shreveport, and Sam C. Derrick of Mansfield; three sisters, Mrs. E. M. Lott of Slaton, Tex., Mrs. Etna Lorena of Port Arthur, Tex., and Mrs. Ada Stockton of El Dorado, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
