Dr. Harvey Hoffman, and Bro. Ken Goode officiated. Burial was held in the Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Dorris died on May 22, at the V.A. Hospital, Pineville, La. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mary Dorris; one son, Richard Virgil Dorris; and one daughter, Sherry Ann Laurence, all of Hornbeck, La.; his mother, Annie Lula Bratton Dorris of Sterlington, La.; one sister, Betty Rhodes of Thibodeaux, La.; three brothers, James Dorris of Monroe, La.; Danny Dorris of Hot Springs, Ark., and Jewell Dorris of Sterlington, La.; three grandchildren, Leslie Ann Laurence, Mark Adam Laurence, and Leila Derease Dorris; and 10 nieces and nephews. Mr. Dorris was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Daniel Dorris; and his sister, Maria Price. Pallbearers were as follows, Jim Randolph, Roy Filipe, Sid Lucius, Van Snell, Kevin Brown, Frankie Howard (Sheriff of Vernon Parish), Jim Johnson, and Roy Snell. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Withers, Glen Brown, Bobbie Dowden, Lee Brown, Bobbie Curtis, Robert Rhodes, and Gene Sharbeno, and Ronald Brown.
