Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Mrs. Derrick died Monday, July 8, at Schumpert Medical Center. She was born in Zwolle, was a former resident of Port Arthur, Tex., and had resided in Shreveport for 14 years. Mrs. Derrick was employed in sales for Paper Shack, and she was a member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Survivors include her mother, Mary Malmay of Zwolle; two daughters, Jackie Powell and husband Johnny of Nederland, Tex., Barbara Lee and husband Kevin of Orangefield, Tex.; two sisters, Loraine Sepulvado of Shreveport, and Rita Domingue of Port Arthur, Tex.; three brothers, E. B. Malmay of Zwolle, Emmitt Malmay Jr. of Magnolia, Tex., and Jerry Malmay of Zwolle; three grandchildren, Jason, Powell, Melanie Lee, and Justin Lee; and special friend, Bill Clinger. Pallbearers were nephews. The family suggest that memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
