Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, in the Bethany Baptist Church, with the Rev. Oliver Roberts officiating, assisted by the Rev. L. R. Hearron. Burial was in the McCaskill Cemetery near Marthaville, directed by Blanchard's Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Survivors include three sons, J. W. Darnell of Clinton, Okla., James Darnell of Robeline, and E. F. Darnell of Natchitoches; five daughters, Mrs. Sam James of Natchitoches, Mrs. L. C. Miller of Shreveport, Mrs. W. R. Cash of Clayton, Ala., Mrs. R. T. Roberts of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. L. B. Skinner of Many; a brother, Otto Sykes of Bossier City; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
