Crit Armstrong 20 Dec 1940 - Last rites for J. Crit Armstrong, age 51 years, were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. John's Catholic church with Father J. A. Benoit saying the requiem mass. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Mary Armstrong; three sisters, Mrs. T. L. Andreis and Mrs. Clare Davis of Many and Mrs. Annie Corbett of Vivian. W. Gandy, were held Tuesday. Burial was in fenders cemetery in charge of Dennis-Green funeral home with Rev. J. D. Scott officiating. Mr. Davenport left no near relatives. For the past eight years he had made his home with his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rev. C. W. Wiliams, pastor of the First Baptist Church, conducted the services with Blanchard funeral home in charge of arrangement. Interment was in Many cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Stoker are her two daughters, Mrs. David Peerson, Zwolle, and Mrs. E. L. Washer, Shreveport; her mother, Mrs. Mary Armstrong; two brothers J. C. and E. H. Armstrong, Many; three sisters, Mrs. T. L. Andries and Mrs. Clara Davis, Many, and Mrs. Annie Corbitt, Vivian, and four grandchildren. Mrs. Stoker was a member of the First Baptist church, Many, and at one time president of the W.M.U. She was associational superintendent of North Sabine Baptist associating at one time and past matron of Sabine chapter 171 O.E.S., Many. *****************************************************************
