W. G. Bailey officiating, interment in Fort Jesup cemetery, Dennis-Green funeral home directing. McInnis 18 Dec 1942 - Another of the valued old citizens passed away when Mrs. Spicy R. McInnis, 80 years old, died at her home in Hornbeck on Dec. 7 at 12:55 a.m. She was a life-time resident of Vernon parish. Before her death she suffered for many months but enduring spirit held until the last. Her husband had preceded her in death many years ago. The funeral services were held with Rev. A. H. Nanny in charge under the direction of Roberts funeral home of DeRidder. Mrs. McInnis was a valued citizen and no doubt during her long lifetime has benefited humanity more than the now living can tell of and in various ways. She reared a large family and is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. J. H. McConathy, Mrs. W. F. Dowden and Mrs. W. W. Williams, all of Anacoco, Mrs. Asa Dowden of Hornbeck, Mrs. J. D. Caloway of Silsbee, Texas and Miss Zetha McInnis of College Station, Texas; three sons, George L. McInnis, of Beaumont, Texas,, Norman E. McInnis and W. C. McInnis of Hornbeck; four sisters, Mrs. J. M. Conerly of Hornbeck, Mrs. Charlie Harrington of DeRidder, Mrs. F. J. Harris of Corpus Christi, Texas and Mrs. D. B. Koonce of Natchitoches; one half-brother, Ped C. Walker, age 60 years, passed away suddenly of heart attack last Wednesday at Mills Valley, Cal. The hour of funeral service has not been set, awaiting the arrival of remains. The funeral will be held at Belmont and interment will be in Belmont cemetery. Surviving Mr. Walker are four children, two daughters, Mrs. Lola Baylis and Mrs. Effie Cook of Bastrop, two sons, Sgt. D. H. Walker of the U. S. marines stationed in New Orleans, and Billie Jean Walker of Belmont; six brothers, Corley of Shreveport, C. E. of Many, Y.
