  7 Dec 1945 - Funeral for Ella Alford, age 40 years, were held 2
p.m. Friday from Mt. Carmel Baptist church, Rev. H. V. Neil
officiating. Massingill funeral home in charge.

  Surviving are: brothers, Riley Alford, Bellwood, Louis Alford,
Many, Edward Alford, Provencal; sister, Mrs. Affie Gandy, route
four Many, Mrs. Lillie Coburn, Cotton Valley, and Mrs. Kate
Coburn, Leesville.

 were held last 2 p.m. Wednesday at MIddlecreek church, Rev. Ott
 Coburn officiated, interment Middle Creek cemetery, Massingill
 funeral home directing.
 
   Surviving are: husband, J. A. Coburn, one son, James A. Coburn,
 U.S. Army; brother, H. B. Cook, Middle Creek; sister, Miss Beth
Cook; and two step-children.

  21 Dec 1945 - Last rites for Mrs. Lillie Gertrude Davis, age 43
years, were held 3 p.m. last Friday at Pisgah church. Rev. C. A.
Bryant officiated, interment Spring Ridge cemetery, Massingill
funeral home in charge.

  Surviving are: husband, J. M. Davis; daughter, Miss Noveline
Davis of Marthaville; sister, Mrs. T. L. Strahan, Marthaville;
three brothers, G. C. Cobb, Larry Cobb, Archie and Asa Cobb, all
of Marthaville.

Mrs. George W. Lucius

  28 Dec 1945 - Funeral rites for Mrs. George W. Lucius, age 79
years, were held 11 a.m. last Friday from the family residence at
Fort Jesup. Rev. Thomas E. Smith of St. Louis, Mo., officiated.
Interment was in Fort Jesup cemetery, Massingill funeral home
directing.

  Surviving are: two sons, J. W. and Rupert of Many; two daughter,
Mrs. J. H. Cain of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Tal C. Gibson of
Joinsville; four sisters, Mrs. A. D. Moore, Stratford, Okla.,
Mrs. Annie Workman, Graham, Texas, Mrs. Albert Matthews, Wichita
Falls, Texas; Mrs. Tom Mades, Byers, Okla.; brother-in-law, James
F. Lucius, Los Angeles, Calif., sister-in-law, Mrs. Kate Lucius,
Many; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  Pallbearers were: A. S. Gibson, C. C. Stoker, Louis Vines,
Robert Lucius, F. A. Koonce, J. B. Vandegaer, LaVerne Daily and
J. A. Tarver.
